Welcome to a world where the global ecosystem has collapsed. Vesper, a 13-year-old girl, tries to survive on this harsh planet. She discovers a secret and uses all her strength to fight for a better future. This Lithuanian film was made without the help of major studios and the result is wonderful: an exciting adventure film in its own universe, where fungi rule the roost.

TALK We have entered a time where boundaries between biological and artificial entities are becoming blurry. Guszti Eiben (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) and Peter Steeneken (Delft University) will give us a preview of a world in which biorobots are made of living tissue and cyberplants will have botanical sensors. What challenges and opportunities will a future like this present? Imagine together with our researchers how humans, animals, virtual agents, biorobots and cyberplants in the future can co-exist.
