InVision brings together professionals from the film, science, and creative industries to stimulate interdisciplinary cross-overs. Why? Because at InScience we believe in the strength of combining science and the art of storytelling. This expert meeting will focus on one central question: how can interdisciplinary collaboration take film and science to the next level?

Programme
The InVision guest of honour is Oscar-nominated director Scott Hamilton Kennedy (Food Evolution, 2016)*. He will host a master class on the art of making a scientific film. How do you create complex stories? How do you work on an interdisciplinary level? How do you weigh different interests and which strategies for distribution, screening and impact are available?

 InVision will also introduce three ‘best practices’:

  • Greg Boustead (USA), executive producer at Sandbox Films, known for such high-end documentaries as The Most Unknown (2018) and Human Nature (2019)*, will explain the vision and strategy of Sandbox and their latest collaboration with Werner Hertzog;
  • Paul Mezier (FR), writer and director of the interactive VR project Overview (2019*), will discuss his artistic vision and his collaboration with scientists for his immersive installations and VR films;
  • Maartje Nevejan (NL) will discuss her documentary Are You There? which is part of a larger multi-media project that includes an art exhibition, a research film, a book and a VR film.*

The programme also includes sub-sessions that explores themes in more detail and pitches new projects. The day will end with a matchmaking session to stimulate new collaborations. All of this will be done under the inspiring leadership of Isolde Hallensleben: host, columnist and programme developer at Eindhoven University of Technology.
