DIsINCARNATE (I-III)

DIsINCARNATE is an eerie expanded cinema performance inspired by antimatter research and particle acceleration experiments at CERN. Using self-made emulsion, experimental devices and a Bolex camera, artist Cinzia Nistico conjures an inquisitive in-between space from two 16mm projectors, accompanied by a live soundscape from trumpeter Igor Iofe. The work explores how reality is shaped at the threshold between presence and absence, imagining the body – like a quantum particle – not as a fixed form, but as a cloud of possibilities. The projected figure is more than an image: it exists as both organic and cinematic matter, simultaneously data and substance.
