What if the whole human experience could be reduced to a process of consumption and digestion? A philosophical film essay which poses visceral questions about being the owners of a body.

The film takes as a starting point a strange premise: the digestive system is an analogy that can describe almost all areas of our physical experience. Perhaps the human body can be described as a sort of sponge which absorbs all kinds of external inputs – food, thoughts, ideals, and beauty. We receive these inputs from external agents that we often don’t even acknowledge, we process them (digest) and finally incorporate them. An intellectual, spiritual and – after all – corporal film ride, which brings the viewer to visit some of the weirdest areas of their mind (and body). -Simone Coghi

This film is preceded by the short Birthday Cakes from China, an entertaining essay on the infiltration of birthday cakes in China, by McDonald’s. The perfect film for 10 years of InScience.
