InScience X Radboud Art & Science
Radboud Art & Science, a free festival that celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Radboud University, will take place from October 19 to 21. InScience contributed to various program components of this festival, where art and science meet.
At the end of last year we launched an open call, inviting filmmakers to work on footage about the history of the university. The results can be seen in various ways during this festival.
The edge of all we know
On Thursday, October 19, the film The edge of all we know will be shown, which previously screened during InScience 2021. This fascinating documentary tells the story behind a historical milestone: the first photo ever taken of a black hole. This film is a tribute to the scientists who pushed the boundaries of what we can see and what we can know to the impossible.
After this film screening there will be a discussion with Peter Galison, director of this film and also a physicist and philosopher at Harvard University. Rob van den Bergh, film programmer at InScience, will lead this conversation.
Junior workshop
InScience is also organizing a junior workshop, with which we challenge you to work on archive images from Radboud University yourself. Grab an iPad, scroll through the images and choose which one you like best. Add effects, mix up the images and make sure they fit nicely with the music. Experience how to make an artistic film with archive footage.
The Radboud Art & Science festival will take place on October 19, 20 and 21 on campus and is free for everyone. Please register in advance via www.ru.nl/artscience, where you can also find more information.
