InScience invited to Silbersalz Festival
At the end of October, InScience will be a guest at the Silbersalz Science & Media Festival in Halle, Germany. Daisy van de Zande, director of InScience, is part of the jury this year. Susanne Beckers, coordinator of Education, will get a look behind the scenes of the festival and will look for potential collaborations.
This year, Silbersalz’s motto is ‘Shake well’, encouraging visitors to reconsider their own positions and be open to new ideas. By mixing and merging, whether in a test tube or in a public debate, exciting new connections and innovations can arise. Special attention is paid to the themes of freedom, structural change and (futuristic) visions.
From 30 October to 3 November 2024, the festival will transform Halle into a place for art, culture, discussion and exchange, with more than 80 free events. Visitors can enjoy world-class film productions, award-winning international installations, exciting discussion formats and a market for science and structural transformation.
Silbersalz Science & Media Festival
Silbersalz is an annual festival focusing on current science, natural history and contemporary social issues. Through film screenings, live performances, immersive artworks and debates, this festival aims to stimulate conversation between the (international) public and thinkers, makers and scientists. In this way, Silbersalz offers space for future ideas and new perspectives, by making the interaction with science part of everyday life. Irem Couchouron, Deputy Director and Head of Program at Silbersalz, was part of the International Grand Jury at InScience 2024.
