InScience Film Festival

InVision 2026

InVision is the industry program of InScience in collaboration with Oostpact that brings together filmmakers, visual artists, storytellers, researchers, developers, philosophers, art students, and science communicators to stimulate interdisciplinary exchange. You can expect a substantive program along with networking opportunities. InVision 2026 will take place on Friday 6 March during the day.

Because of the diverse program and the networking opportunities, InVision is a place to initiate or kick-start new projects. This makes InScience a breeding ground for creative talents that look beyond the boundaries of their own discipline.

Like every other year this iteration of InVision promises a profound program about what it means to be an industry professional as well as a pleasant social environment for people to meet and learn from each other. Did we mention the accreditation gets you a free screening? Come to InVision on March 6th and celebrate cinema with us.

Did you know? InVision is not just for film professionals, but also for scientists!

Programme

The InVision | OostPact x InScience event on 6 March 2026 is a one-day programme exploring the intersection of film, archives and science communication. It brings together filmmakers, artists, and researchers to examine how audiovisual storytelling can translate complex knowledge into engaging and tangible experiences for diverse audiences. The programme starts at 13:00 and will last until 17:00, after which there’s the opportunity to meet each other for drinks.

The programme opens with a welcome by moderator Kiki Kolman, followed by an informal kick-off of the Cinepoems project. This introduction explains the purpose of the guided tour and its relation to the film Ice Grave. The first major session is the masterclass Embodying Archives by filmmaker Zuza Banasińska. Drawing on their award-winning archival practice, Banasińska challenges the idea of archives as neutral or objective collections. Instead, they highlight how meaning emerges through organisation, governance and dissemination. The masterclass explores affective and embodied approaches to archival material and how filmmakers can uncover new meanings in existing footage.

After a break, the panel Making Data Tangible brings together filmmaker Anupama Srinivasan, artist-sociologist Luke Conroy, documentary filmmaker Anne Fehres and scientist Teun Bousema (tbc). The speakers discuss interdisciplinary methods for translating research and data into compelling visual narratives.

The Ammodo Docs session presents excerpts from science documentaries and reflects on the process of condensing research into short films. It focuses on expectations, creative choices and practical strategies for making abstract scientific concepts accessible.

Participants then divide into two parallel sessions: a masterclass on science film festival strategy and distribution by Ondřej Kazik, and a guided tour through the regional film archive exploring historic love letters.

The day concludes with an informal networking reception and speed-dating sessions with speakers, creating opportunities for collaboration, exchange and future projects across the film, art and science communities.
