Project Nim

Project Nim

In the early 70’s students of the Colombia University in New York started a unique experiment: they wanted to investigate if monkeys would be able to adapt to human forms of communication. A small chimpanzee named Nim Chimpsky is adopted by a family and grows up together with their children. He is fed, treated, loved, and raised in the same way. The film tells the revealing, comically, but also alarming story of the attempt to transform a monkey into a human.
