In 1999, the Swiss Bertrand Piccard travelled around the world in a hot air balloon. Once again he will follow in the footsteps of his grandfather Auguste Piccard (1884-1962) and Jacques Piccard (1922-2008). Together with a team of engineers, meteorologists and mathematicians, he will embark on one of the biggest challenges in aviation history: navigating the globe in an experimental solar-powered airplane.
