Marquis de Wavrin
In 1913, Marquis de Wavrin (1888-1971) traded in his castle for the jungle. As a photographer and filmmaker, he became a pioneer of ethnographic cinema. He documented now-lost tribes, but his photos never became famous, his writings were lost and parts of his films were damaged. Directors Grace Winter and Luc Plantier delved into his past and brought his journeys to life in Marquis de Wavrin.
